Childbirth is an event in which good preparation can give you more peace of mind. In addition to following a pregnancy course, it can help to think about the birth and your wishes. A birth plan or delivery plan can help with this. In your birth plan you describe your wishes regarding the birth. This keeps you involved in the things that happen during the birth and the decisions that are made. Even at times when you can't quite say what you want.
It is certainly not mandatory to make a birth plan, but for some it can provide guidance during the birth. Are you always aware that you cannot predict a delivery. A birth plan does not determine how your delivery will go. It is a guideline for your expectations, ideas and wishes with regard to childbirth.
